The Edge Harlem
The Edge Harlem is owned and operated by sisters, Juliet & Justine Masters. This local Harlem eatery was established in 2014 and is known for its cozy rustic décor and creative food – reflecting the multi-cultural heritage of the sisters. The sisters are native New Yorkers whose parents are British & Jamaican. They have lived in Harlem for the last 17 years. The Edge Harlem is an ode to the community and pays homage to the spirit of Harlem honoring those who came before. The building that the restaurant resides in has its own unique history and was a meeting place for key figures of the Harlem Renaissance.
Juliet Masters is a graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute and has over 15 years of experience in catering and private cooking. She designed the menu for The Edge based on her multi-cultural background and exposure to the culinary arts.
Justine Masters is the curator of the ambiance at the Edge including the décor, sound and weekly live music series. Her background is in real estate, fashion and the music business.
The story behind The Edge is family.
The Edge features homemade traditional Jamaican Sorrel and Ginger Beer which are made weekly by the sisters’ father and antique accent pieces sourced by their mother. Along with this, the sisters have merged their own distinctive talents to create a popular neighborhood spot with an inviting environment and a delicious menu for all to enjoy.
