Mary Gorman-McAdams, MW
Based in New York, Mary Gorman-McAdams, MW is wine consultant, educator and wine judge. Since 2014, she has worked as the Bordeaux Wine Council’s market advisor for North America, where she leads their USA and Canadian marketing and education programs and was instrumental in initiating Bordeaux Wine’s partnership with Harlem EatUp! back in 2015.
Mary became a Master of Wine in 2011, a distinguished title held only by 354 people worldwide. In 2012 she was honored as a Dame Chevalier de L'Ordre des Côteaux de Champagne.
As a Master of Wine and a leading wine educator, Mary is highly regarded within the North American wine industry and community. In 2012 Mary was joined the IMW’s Global Education Committee, which manages the Institute’s academic program, including the annual residential seminars and course days. She also serves as a mentor to MW students.
Since 2003 Mary has been teaching Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) programs at the International Wine Center, NYC. She is a regular wine judge at the TexSomm International Wine Competition and has also judged at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Ultimate Wine Challenge.
Mary served on the board of the Society of Wine Educator’s (2012-2014) and is a regular speaker at its annual conference. She is a founding advisory board member of SommCon and Winebow’s annual Women in Wine Leadership Symposium.
With 17 years of international marketing and business experience behind her, Mary Gorman-McAdams is a very commercially driven Master of Wine.
