Angela Dimayuga has been the executive chef at Mission Chinese Food NewYork City since 2012. Under her watch, MCFNY has been awarded two stars and the title of Restaurant of the Year 2012 by New York Times. New York Magazine named her the Best Chef of 2015, and the James Beard Foundation nominated her as a Rising Star Chef in 2016. In 2017, Angela was named Rising Star Chef by StarChefs.
After taking over the noma kitchen for the Gelinaz! Shuffle in 2015. She was invited to give a keynote address at the premier global food conference hosted by noma called The Mad Symposium, entitled “Burning the Candle at Both Ends” in which she discussed her career as a chef and the ways in which she has learned to promote creativity and maintain a work-life balance for herself and her staff. She continues to promote restaurants as place for community building cultural hubs and a place of diversity.
Angela is a contributor to Vice Munchies. Her writing and recipes have also been featured by New York magazine, Bon Appetit, Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, T magazine, Lucky Peach, and Food + Wine.
