Harlem EatUp! : Andrea Nally

We have come to accept that we like things partly because of how they look. We feel comfortable with all we have, or eat, or use, because their colors and textures and forms tell us they’re desirable and unique. We will remember what is visually enticing. When designing to entice, there are no half measures. Pinks are straight from flamingos. Glosses shine in the dimmest light. Textures look like they’re already crunching. Painting portraits of these designs means showing the art of enticement. We get a close up view to ponder all the elements of design that tell us to eat, to drink, and to enjoy.

These portraits don’t just portray objects, but how we know they will be desirable.
