Who says you need to be in Kentucky to celebrate the Kentucky Derby? Not Harlem Derby founder Rob Owens, who has been celebrating the Kentucky Derby in Harlem for the past six years - hats, bourbon, mint juleps and all. This year, he is taking the celebration to a new level - highlighting the legacy of African American Jockeys in Kentucky Derby history. The 7th Annual Run for the Roses Gala will be replete with food, beverage, live music, fashion and history, delivering a classic derby experience that combines the preppy sophistication of the Kentucky Derby with Harlem’s swag and urban vibes. So come on out! Party with a purpose! Grab your derby hat and experience the Kentucky Derby – Harlem Style! The event line up is sure to leave you entertained, enlightened and inspired!
This year, in anticipation of the Fifth Annual Harlem EatUp! Festival, Harlem Derby has partnered with Red Rooster Harlem to host the event. Just need a couple of Derby inspired cocktails? Dip into Red Rooster bar and patio. Need the full experience replete with food and beverage? Ginny’s has your number! We are betting on seeing you there! Derby cocktails and two derby food stations served from 4pm to 7pm at Ginny’s Supper Club. We look forward to seeing you there!
This event is presented by Woodford Reserve. For additional questions regarding this event, please contact Rob Owens at 917-250-9249.
