Harlem EatUp! Co-Founder Marcus Samuelsson, Harlem restaurateur Sivan Baron, chef and spice master Lior Lev Sercarz, and chef, television personality and producer Andrew Zimmern are setting the table for our first Shabbat dinner, in collaboration with the Jewish Food Society, a non-profit organization which strives to preserve, celebrate and revitalize Jewish culinary heritage, and JCC Harlem, a community space for all. Central in the Jewish faith, Shabbat is a day of rest beginning on Friday nights after sunset until Saturday after nightfall. As we celebrate five years of Harlem EatUp!, this Dine-In inherently exhibits the five principles of Shabbat and, turns out, the pillars of our festival too - sacred time, taste of the world to come, rest, joy and community. With a kosher family-style meal, there will be no better place to be on festival Friday night than with these talented chefs and your community. Shabbat shalom (good day of rest)!
